Adding promo videos to three Play Store listings

Published a Play Store promo video for Altimeter, Flashlight, and Weight Tracker — the autoplay clip that runs before the screenshots.

Added a promo video to the Play Store listing for three apps this week: Altimeter, Flashlight, and Weight Tracker.

This is the video Google Play autoplays muted at the top of the listing, before a visitor ever scrolls to the screenshots. Different thing from the short-form TikTok/Shorts test we ran on Flashlight back in December — that was about driving organic discovery outside the store; this is about converting the visitor who already landed on the listing page.

What shipped

Each clip leads with the product doing the one thing it's named for, no logo intro, no voiceover — it has to land with the sound off.

Why

The listing video sits before the fold, and it's the first thing a visitor sees after tapping in from search or a keyword result — before screenshots, before the description. For utility-category apps especially, where the whole pitch is "does one thing, does it instantly," a few seconds of the real thing beats a paragraph of copy.

CraftCost has a promo video in the works too, not published yet. Will log it here once it's live. Watching whether these three see any lift in listing-page conversion over the next few weeks.
