ABC TRACING SUPPORT
Everything a grown-up might need to know.
ABC Tracing is a tracing app for children 3-6: lines, shapes, numbers, letters, mazes, colours and attention games. This page answers the questions parents actually ask. If yours isn't here, write to us - a person reads every message.
Tracing
How does my child know where to start?
Every stroke has a green start dot and an arrow showing the direction. If nothing happens for a moment, an animated hand shows the stroke. There is nothing to read: the pictures explain the task.
My child traced it, but the line faded away.
A stroke counts when it starts near the dot, goes the right way and covers most of the dotted path. If it misses, the line gently fades and the hand shows the stroke again. There is no red cross, no error sound and no lives. Try again as many times as you like.
Can my child lose, or run out of time?
No. There is no timer, no score and no failure state. When every stroke on the page is done, your child gets a star and a sticker for the album.
Can we start a page again?
Yes. The sponge button wipes the page clean, like an erasable workbook. Pages can be repeated without limit.
Does it work with Apple Pencil or a stylus?
Yes. A stylus works on iPad and Android tablets, and while one is in use, a resting palm is ignored. A finger works everywhere. Tracing with a finger helps children learn the shapes and the stroke order; it is not the same as holding a pencil.
Can two children use the same device?
Yes. Each child gets a profile with their own animal, marker colour and progress. Add or edit profiles in the grown-ups section. The name can be a nickname; it never leaves the device.
The purchase
What is free and what costs money?
All the lines are free, plus the first pages of every other section: shapes, numbers, letters, mazes, colours and attention games. One optional purchase, "Unlock everything", opens every page, including pages added in later updates.
It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. There are no coins, no energy, no ads, and no second thing to buy later.
Can my child buy it by accident?
No. The purchase screen sits behind a parental gate: a multiplication with a two-digit answer, such as 7 × 8, typed on a keypad. A preschool child cannot pass it, and there is nothing to guess - a wrong answer generates a new sum.
The same gate protects the settings and every link that leaves the app, including this support page and the privacy policy. Your store account’s own purchase confirmation still applies on top of it.
I bought it, but the pages are still locked.
Open the grown-ups section and tap Restore purchases. This asks the store directly and re-applies anything already bought on the store account currently signed in on the device.
If it still doesn’t unlock, email us with the store (App Store or Google Play), the device, and roughly when you bought it - we’ll sort it out.
Does the purchase work on our other devices?
Yes, on any device signed into the same App Store or Google Play account. Install the app, open the grown-ups section and tap Restore purchases. Family Sharing on iOS is supported; share the purchase in the usual way. Progress itself stays on each device.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by the store, not by us. On iOS use reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android use the order history in Google Play. We have no access to your payment details at any point.
Privacy & data
What does the app collect about my child?
Nothing. There is no account, no sign-up, no email field, no camera or microphone use, and no location. Profiles and progress are stored on the device and never leave it. Drawings are not saved.
There are no analytics, attribution, or crash-reporting SDKs in the build - not disabled, not present. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
Are there ads?
No. No banners, no interstitials, no rewarded video, no cross-promotion of our other apps inside the app, and no ad SDK in the binary.
Does it need an internet connection?
No. Every page ships inside the app. The only time the app talks to a network at all is when a grown-up opens a link or makes or restores the purchase - all behind the parental gate. Handing the device over in airplane mode works perfectly.
How do I delete everything?
Delete a profile in the grown-ups section to remove its progress, or delete the app to remove everything. There is no server copy to request the deletion of.
Troubleshooting
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad on iOS 15 or newer, and Android phones and tablets on Android 7 or newer. A tablet gives the most room to trace, but every page fits a phone too.
Which languages does it speak?
English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese, with the letters each language needs (ä, ñ, ç, é and others). The app follows the device language and falls back to English; you can change it in the grown-ups section.
Something is broken. What should I send you?
The device model, the OS version, and what happened. If it’s a visual problem, a screenshot settles it in one email.
Didn't find it? Write to us.
A real person reads every support message. Include the device model and OS version - it helps us reproduce anything odd.
