HIDDEN MITTEN SUPPORT
Everything a grown-up might need to know.
Hidden Mitten is a seek-and-find game for children 3-7. This page answers the questions parents actually ask. If yours isn't here, write to us - a person reads every message.
Playing
How does my child know what to look for?
The bar along the edge of the screen shows three small pictures of things hidden in the scene. Your child taps the thing in the picture. When it's found, the picture is ticked off and the next one slides in. There is no text to read anywhere in the game.
My child is stuck. Is there a hint?
Yes. Tapping the hint button pulses a soft golden ring around the object currently being hunted. If nothing is tapped for about forty seconds, the same hint appears on its own - so a child who can't ask for help still gets it.
Hints are unlimited and free. Nothing in the game is rationed or sold back to you.
Can my child lose, or run out of time?
No. There is no timer, no score, no lives, and no failure state. Tapping the wrong spot produces a soft ripple and nothing else. A scene ends only when all twelve things are found.
Does progress get saved?
Yes, per scene, on the device. If you close the app halfway through the harbour, the things already found are still found when you come back. A finished scene keeps a small badge on the picker screen, and can be replayed from scratch at any time.
Why is the game always sideways?
The scenes are wide illustrations. Locking to landscape means the whole picture is on screen at once, at the largest size the device allows - no cropping, no pinch-zoom, nothing for a small child to accidentally scroll out of view.
The purchase
What is free and what costs money?
Two complete scenes - the zoo and the station - are free, with all twelve objects in each. One optional purchase unlocks the remaining four scenes: market, harbour, building site and fair.
It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. There are no coins, no energy, no loot boxes, and no second thing to buy later.
Can my child buy it by accident?
No. The purchase screen sits behind a parental gate: a two-digit multiplication such as 7 × 8, typed on a keypad. A child under about eight cannot pass it, and there is nothing to guess - a wrong answer generates a new sum.
The same gate protects every link that leaves the app, including this support page and the privacy policy. Your store account's own purchase confirmation still applies on top of it.
I bought it, but the scenes are still locked.
Open the purchase screen and tap Restore purchases. This asks the store directly and re-applies anything already bought on the store account currently signed in on the device.
If it still doesn't unlock, email us with the store (App Store or Google Play), the device, and roughly when you bought it - we'll sort it out.
Does the purchase work on our other devices?
Yes, on any device signed into the same App Store or Google Play account. Install the app, open the purchase screen and tap Restore purchases. Family Sharing on iOS is supported by the store; ask iOS to share the purchase in the usual way.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by the store, not by us. On iOS use reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android use the order history in Google Play. We have no access to your payment details at any point.
Privacy & data
What does the app collect about my child?
Nothing. There is no account, no sign-up, no email field, no name field, no camera or microphone use, and no location. Which objects have been found is stored in a small file on the device and never leaves it.
There are no analytics, attribution, or crash-reporting SDKs in the build - not disabled, not present. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
Are there ads?
No. No banners, no interstitials, no rewarded video, no cross-promotion of our other apps inside the game, and no ad SDK in the binary.
Does it need an internet connection?
No. Every scene ships inside the app. The only time the app talks to a network at all is when a grown-up taps a legal link or makes the purchase - both of which are behind the parental gate. Handing the device over in airplane mode works perfectly.
How do I delete everything?
Delete the app. Since the only data is progress stored inside the app's own sandbox, removing the app removes all of it. There is no server copy to request the deletion of.
Troubleshooting
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad on iOS 13 or newer, and Android phones and tablets on Android 6 or newer. A tablet is the nicer experience simply because the scenes are large, but the layout is built to work down to a small phone in landscape.
A tap doesn't register on something I can clearly see.
Only the three objects currently shown in the bar can be tapped - a hidden object that hasn't come up yet does nothing when touched. That's deliberate: it keeps the hunt to three things at a time.
The sounds are annoying / my child needs it silent.
Sound and haptics each have their own switch in Settings, reachable from the gear icon on the scene picker. Turning both off leaves the game fully playable.
Something is broken. What should I send you?
The device model, the OS version, the app version (shown at the bottom of the parents screen), and what happened. If it's a visual problem, a screenshot settles it in one email.
Didn't find it? Write to us.
A real person reads every support message. Include the device model and OS version - it helps us reproduce anything odd.
