WEIGHT TRACKER
Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
Weight Tracker is published by CodeEnsis Ltd. ("we", "our", "us"). This policy explains what the app stores, what limited data is collected by the advertising and analytics services it uses, and the rights you have. Questions or requests: [email protected].
2. What Weight Tracker stores on your device
The following data lives only on your phone, in the app's private storage. It is never uploaded to CodeEnsis, never shared with advertisers, and never used to personalise ads:
- Your weight history - every entry you log, with its date, value, and any note you add.
- Your goal weight and the progress derived from it.
- Your height and the BMI calculated from it.
- Your measurement system (metric / imperial) and unit preferences.
- Reminder preferences - the time and cadence of your daily weigh-in reminder.
- Streak state (current and longest) and onboarding completion.
- App settings such as theme and similar preferences.
If you uninstall Weight Tracker, all of this is removed with the app. There is no server-side copy of your health data, because we never receive it.
3. What we never do with your health data
- No account. We never ask for your real name, email, phone number, password, or a social login.
- Your weight, goals, notes, BMI and height never leave your device through the app, are never sold, and are never shared with advertisers or analytics providers.
- No contacts, microphone, camera, photo library, or precise (GPS) location.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Weight Tracker is free and supported by banner ads served through Google AdMob. To deliver ads, Google's Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process data such as your device's advertising ID, app and device information, approximate (IP-based) location, and ad-interaction events, and may use it to show personalised or non-personalised ads. Google processes this data as an independent party under the Google Privacy Policy and the Google AdMob policies.
Your consent (EEA / UK and similar regions). On first launch where it is required, the app shows a Google-certified consent message that lets you choose whether your data may be used for personalised advertising. You can change or withdraw that choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy options inside the app. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalised.
Your weight and other health data are never shared with advertisers and are never used to target ads.
5. Analytics and crash reporting (Google Firebase)
To keep the app reliable and understand which features are used, Weight Tracker includes Google Firebase Analytics (aggregate usage events, such as screen opens) and Google Firebase Crashlytics (diagnostic reports if the app crashes). These collect limited technical data - for example device model, operating-system and app version, a non-identifying app-instance identifier, and crash stack traces. They do not receive your weight entries, goals, notes, or other health data. This data is processed by Google as our service provider under the Google Privacy Policy.
6. Network use
Your core data is handled on-device: logging weight, viewing your trend, calculating BMI, setting goals and scheduling reminders all work offline, and your weight data is never sent over the network. The app does use an internet connection for the advertising, analytics and crash-reporting described in sections 4 and 5, and to load ad content.
7. Exporting and sharing your data
You can export your full history to a CSV file from within the app. When you choose to share or save that file, your device's standard share sheet hands it to whatever destination you pick (email, a notes app, cloud storage, etc.). That action, and where the file goes, is entirely under your control - CodeEnsis is not involved and never receives a copy.
8. Reminders and notifications
If you enable the weigh-in reminder, Weight Tracker schedules a local notification on your device at the time you choose. Reminders are generated on-device; there are no remote push servers and no message content leaves your phone. You can turn reminders off in the app, or revoke the notification permission at any time in your system settings.
9. Permissions Weight Tracker asks for
- Internet / network access - to load ads and send the anonymous analytics and crash diagnostics described above.
- Notifications - to deliver the optional daily weigh-in reminder at the cadence you choose. Scheduled locally; you can revoke this at any time in system settings.
- Exact alarms (Android, where applicable) - so a scheduled reminder fires at the time you set rather than being deferred. Used only for reminders.
- Advertising ID - used by the Google Mobile Ads SDK to serve ads. You can reset or limit it in your device settings, and manage personalised-ads consent in Settings → Ad privacy options.
10. Children
Weight Tracker is a general-audience fitness tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Ads shown in the app are served for a general audience.
11. Your rights
- Access / portability: All of your weight data is visible to you directly inside the app, and can be exported to CSV at any time (section 7).
- Deletion: Deleting individual entries, or uninstalling Weight Tracker, removes your on-device data - there is no server-side health profile to delete.
- Ad consent: Change or withdraw your personalised-ads consent any time in Settings → Ad privacy options, and reset your advertising ID in your device settings.
- Data held by Google: For the limited data collected for ads, analytics and crash reporting, you can exercise your rights with Google under the Google Privacy Policy.
- Contact: For anything else, write to [email protected] - a human reads every message.
12. Data retention
On-device data is retained until you delete it in the app, uninstall the app, or clear it from your device's app settings. CodeEnsis does not maintain a server-side profile of you. Data collected by Google for advertising, analytics and crash reporting is retained by Google under its own policies.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Weight Tracker evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Effective" date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
