The to-do list that ends.
A single daily list that resets at midnight. No backlog. No projects. No inbox guilt. Plan tonight, win tomorrow - and a streak that forgives one off day a week.
FEATURES
A calmer way to do today.
Tonight strips a to-do app down to the minimum that actually makes the day move. No filler. No accumulating backlog. No guilt.
One day, one list
No projects, no tags, no nested folders. Tonight shows only today. Anything you didn't close gets finalised at midnight and tomorrow opens fresh.
Auto-reset at midnight
Tonight watches your local clock. When the day rolls over, the list resets without you doing anything. The point of the app: a finite list with a hard end.
Streaks that forgive
Close everything by midnight and your streak grows. Miss one day a week and Tonight's grace day carries the streak forward - because life happens.
Calendar history
Every day is a dot - closed, carried, skip-protected, or missed. Longest streak and monthly close-rate at a glance. Honest, never shaming.
Private by design
Your tasks never leave the device. Encrypted local storage, no account, no telemetry by default. Optional analytics are off until you turn them on.
One gentle reminder
Optional morning nudge if you want one. Silent if you don't. Tonight doesn't chase you - it just opens tomorrow's blank list when you arrive.
HOW IT WORKS
Plan, close, reset.
Three motions a day. Sixty seconds before bed. Sixty seconds in the morning. Tonight does the rest at midnight.
Plan tonight
Open Tonight before bed. Type the handful of things that actually matter tomorrow. Don't overstuff - the list ends at midnight.
Close through the day
Tick things off as you go. Streak chip on top right shows where you stand. Heavy haptic when you close the last one.
Reset at midnight
Tonight finalises the day - closed, carried by grace, skip-protected, or missed. Tomorrow you open the app and start fresh.
A LOOK INSIDE
Five screens. One day.
Today, the close-of-day celebration, how streaks survive a missed day, the calendar that owns your history, and tomorrow's blank slate.
MADE FOR
If your list keeps winning the day.
Tonight is not for everyone. It's for the people who tried five other apps and felt buried by all of them.
QUESTIONS
The short version.
What happens to my tasks at midnight?
Tonight evaluates your local day around midnight. Tasks you closed count toward your streak. If everything was closed, the day is “closed”. If you missed any, the day is “missed” unless your weekly grace covers it. Tomorrow opens with an empty list either way.
How does grace day work?
Once per calendar week, if you miss a single day, Tonight carries the streak forward instead of breaking it. The day shows green-lime in the calendar. Grace resets every Monday.
Can I plan more than one day ahead?
No. That's the design. Other apps already do that and they don't end. Tonight is for the day in front of you - that's the wedge.
Where is my data stored?
Encrypted local storage on your device. No Tonight account exists, no server holds a copy. See the privacy policy for the full breakdown.
Is Tonight free?
Yes. The launch version is fully free. Future paid tiers, if any, will be visible on the store listing and billed by Apple - never inside the app.
Does Tonight track me?
No advertising IDs, no third-party trackers, no behavioural profile. Optional crash and usage analytics are off by default. You decide.
Plan tonight. Win tomorrow.
One day. One list. Auto-resets at midnight. Streaks that forgive a missed day.
