TONIGHT
Support & FAQ.
How does the daily reset work?
Tonight evaluates your day around local midnight. Any tasks you closed before midnight count toward your streak. Anything still open is finalised: if all your tasks are closed by midnight the day is “closed”, otherwise it’s “missed” (unless your weekly grace covers it). Tomorrow always opens with an empty list.
What is a grace day?
Once per calendar week, if you miss a single day, Tonight carries the streak forward instead of breaking it. The day shows up green-lime in your history calendar. The grace resets every Monday.
What are skip tokens?
If you know you’ll be off (travel, sick day, off-day), tap the streak chip on the Today screen and use a skip token. The day is marked as “skip-protected” in history and your streak survives. You get one token per week.
Where is my data stored?
Everything lives encrypted on your device. There is no Tonight account and no server-side copy of your tasks. If you uninstall the app, your data is gone with it. See the privacy policy for the full breakdown.
How do I enable reminders?
Add a task — after your first task Tonight asks if you want a gentle morning reminder. You can change the time later in Settings → Reminders. iOS will ask for notification permission the first time you pick a reminder; if you decline you can re-enable it in iOS Settings → Notifications → Tonight.
I lost my data after reinstalling.
This is expected. Tonight stores nothing in the cloud by design. The encryption key lives in the iOS Keychain, which iOS clears when you delete the app. Reinstalling produces a fresh, empty Tonight.
How do I delete everything inside the app?
Settings → Delete all data wipes every task, every day record, every preference, and resets the streak. The action is irreversible by design and confirms with a deletion token shown on screen.
