3D PRINT COST CALCULATOR
Know what a print actually costs.
Filament is the cheap part. PrintCost adds the electricity, the machine wearing itself out, your time, the print that failed and the cut the marketplace takes - then works backwards from the margin you want to the price you should charge.
The cost stack, line by line
Nothing is folded into a mystery number. Every row is visible and editable, and the breakdown bar shows where the money goes.
What it does
Prices backwards from the margin
Say you want 55% and it solves for the price - not price x 2 and hope. Or use a straight markup if that is how you quote.
Knows what the platform takes
Fee presets for Etsy, eBay and Shapeways, including offsite ads, show the money that actually lands in your account. Every rate is editable, because they change.
Paste from your slicer
Copy the summary out of Cura, PrusaSlicer or Bambu Studio and paste it in. Weight and print time fill themselves in.
Your filaments and your printers
68 brand presets and printer profiles for Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality, Elegoo, Anycubic, Sovol and Voron - pick the machine and its wattage, price and lifetime arrive with it.
Tracks what is left on the spool
Saving a job subtracts what it used from the spool it came off. The bar is a fraction of that spool's real weight, and a tap refills or corrects it.
Re-quote instead of re-typing
Saved jobs keep the model name, the customer and every input. Reopen one, change the quantity, send the new number. Export the quote as a PDF or an image. (Pro)
Free and Pro
Free forever: unlimited calculations, marketplace fee presets, slicer paste, one printer, ten filaments and five saved jobs. The fee presets and the slicer paste are the reason to open this instead of a web calculator, and they are not going behind a paywall.
Pro removes the limits - unlimited printers, filaments and saved jobs - and adds PDF and image quote export. It is $3.99 monthly or $19.99 yearly, or $29.99 once for lifetime.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and the account is charged within 24 hours before that date. The lifetime purchase never renews. Cancel in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions on iOS, or in Google Play › Payments and subscriptions on Android.
Where your numbers live
On your phone. Filaments, printers, jobs, customer names and prices are stored locally and are never uploaded to a CodeEnsis server - there is no account to make and nothing to log into. That also means uninstalling the app deletes the data with it, so use the export. Full detail in the Privacy Policy.
Support
Email [email protected]. A human reads every message. Tell us the device, the app version from Settings, and what you expected to happen. We answer within two business days.
The price it suggests looks too high
That is usually the first honest look at your own numbers. Check the failure rate, the labour minutes and the hourly rate you set - a 6-hour print that needs 20 minutes of sanding is mostly labour, not plastic. Every input is editable; nothing is hardcoded.
Are the marketplace fees accurate?
They are the published rates at the time we shipped, and they are editable for exactly that reason. We are not affiliated with Etsy, eBay or Shapeways - check your own seller dashboard if a rate has moved.
I bought Pro and still see the free limit
Open Settings and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you paid with. If it still does not unlock, email us with the store receipt and we will sort it out.
Can I move my library to a new phone?
Everything is on the device, so a new phone starts empty. Restoring a purchase brings Pro back, not your filaments and jobs.
