3D PRINT COST CALCULATOR
Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
3D Print Cost Calculator ("PrintCost", "the app") is a mobile application published by CodeEnsis Ltd. ("we", "our", "us"), Χριστόδουλου Σώζου 2, EIFFEL TOWER, Floor 3, Flat/Office 301, 1096 Λευκωσία, Κύπρος. The app works out what a 3D print actually costs - filament, electricity, machine wear, post-processing, labour, failed prints and marketplace fees - and what to sell it for. This policy explains what data the app handles and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").
2. Data stored on your device
Everything you enter is stored only on your device, in a local database. That includes your filament library (brands, names, colours, spool prices and weights), your printer profiles (wattage, machine cost, lifetime hours, failure rate), your saved jobs (model name, any customer name you add, and the full cost and price snapshot), your marketplace fee settings, and your preferences (currency, electricity rate, labour rate, default failure rate). None of it is transmitted to us and we have no ability to access it. We operate no backend server and no user accounts for this app.
3. Data we do not collect
We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or postal address, and we have no way to link app usage to your identity. The app contains no advertising SDK. We do not sell data - there is nothing to sell.
4. Usage and crash statistics
The app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand which features are used and to find crashes. This is the one place where data leaves your device, so it is worth being precise about what does and does not travel:
- What is sent: anonymous event names and counters (for example "a price was calculated", "a job was saved", "the paywall was opened and by which action", "a slicer paste was used"), coarse flags such as whether you priced by markup or by target margin and which marketplace preset was selected, plus a randomly generated app-install identifier, the date that identifier was created, device model, OS version and app version. Crash reports additionally include a stack trace.
- What is never sent: your filament brands, names and prices; your printer profiles; your job names, customer names, costs, prices or margins; your quotes; and your rate settings. Where the app needs to know which pricing mode or fee preset you used, it records only that short label - never your figures.
- Objecting: the statistics are anonymous and cannot be traced back to you as an individual. If you would nonetheless prefer that your installation not contribute to them, write to us at the address in section 15 and we will act on it. Uninstalling the app stops all collection immediately.
See the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation and the Google Privacy Policy.
5. Purchases
If you buy PrintCost Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play and validated through RevenueCat, which we use to check and restore entitlements. A pseudonymous app-user identifier and your receipt data are processed for that purpose. We never receive your name, email, or payment card details; payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy, the Apple Privacy Policy, and the Google Privacy Policy.
6. Quotes, exports and sharing
Quotes are generated as PDFs or images on your device. If you share or print one, your device's standard share sheet sends it to the app, contact or printer you select. We are not involved in that transfer and never receive a copy. Note that a quote you share contains whatever you put on it, including the model name and any customer name.
7. Fonts and network access
The app's typefaces are bundled inside the app and are not fetched from any font service at runtime. Apart from the statistics in section 4 and the purchase checks in section 5, the app makes network requests only when you deliberately open a link - for example this policy, which opens inside the app in a web view. Calculating, saving jobs and exporting quotes all work with no internet connection at all.
8. Permissions
The app requests no sensitive device permissions. It does not use the camera, microphone, contacts, or location. It reads your clipboard only at the moment you tap "Paste from slicer", to fill the paste box for you; the text is parsed on your device for a weight and a print time and is never transmitted. Exporting, printing and sharing use your operating system's built-in dialogs, at your request.
9. In-app review
The app may ask, at most occasionally and never before you have got value from it, whether you would like to leave a store review. The prompt and any review you write are handled by Apple or Google, not by us.
10. Data retention and deletion
Because your data lives on your device, you control it. Deleting a filament, printer or job removes it immediately; uninstalling the app removes all PrintCost data from the device. Purchase records held by Apple, Google and RevenueCat are governed by their policies - to request deletion of purchase or analytics data, contact us and we will assist.
11. Children
The app is intended for adults pricing and selling 3D prints and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
12. Legal basis (GDPR) and your rights
We hold no personal data on any server, so most data-subject rights are satisfied directly on your device, where you can view, edit and delete everything. For purchase data processed via the app stores and RevenueCat, the legal basis is performance of a contract under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. For anonymous usage and crash statistics, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the app under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, and you may object at any time as described in section 4. You may contact us to exercise rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability or objection, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
13. Security
Your data is protected by your device's own security (lock screen, encryption). We recommend keeping your device secured and backed up.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Effective" date above.
