Terms of Service.
Who you're agreeing with
These terms are between you and CodeEnsis Ltd. ("we", "us"), a company registered in Cyprus building Pillowbook. By using this website or the app, you agree to what's below.
Using Pillowbook
Pillowbook is intended for use by an adult parent or guardian, reading to a child. The free tales need no account and no purchase. The rest of the collection is unlocked by a one-time purchase, billed through your Apple or Google account. It does not renew, and the tales we add to the collection later are included at no extra cost.
The tales are fixed text and fixed artwork, retold and illustrated by us. They are the same for every reader and do not change between readings. The pictures of tales you have bought are downloaded once, the first time you open each tale, and then stay on your device.
To keep a purchase when you change or lose a phone, sign in with Apple or Google in Settings, or use Restore purchases on the new device with the same Apple ID or Google account.
Stories made by earlier versions
Earlier versions of Pillowbook could also write a story about your own child with an AI model. The current version no longer does. Stories already made stay in your library to read, exactly as they were written. They were not reviewed by a person before you read them; if one ever reads wrong, report it from the story or write to us.
Earlier versions also sold an annual subscription. If you still have one, it renews through your Apple or Google account until you cancel it there: App Store subscriptions on iOS, Play Store subscriptions on Android. Payment is charged within 24 hours before the current period ends, so cancel at least 24 hours before it renews. Subscribers keep the classic tales collection for good, whether or not they cancel.
Acceptable use
Please don't use Pillowbook outside its intended purpose, redistribute its tales or pictures, or try to disrupt, scrape, or reverse-engineer the app or this website.
This website
The text, layout, images, and code on this site are owned by CodeEnsis Ltd. You're welcome to share links to it, but email us first if you want to quote or reuse copy, for example in press coverage. The same goes for the tale text and the artwork inside the app, which are ours and are licensed to you for reading, not for redistribution.
The email waitlist that used to live on this site is closed. If you signed up to it, see the privacy policy for what happens to that address.
Our liability
Pillowbook is provided "as is." We retell every tale to be gentle and age-appropriate, but you know your child best, and which tale suits them tonight is your call. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CodeEnsis is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app or this website.
Changes
We may update these terms as Pillowbook develops. Material changes will be summarized at the top with a new date. Continued use of the app or site after changes means you accept them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to CodeEnsis Ltd. (Cyprus).
