Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
Flashlight is a mobile application for Android published by Codeensis Ltd. ("we", "our", "us"), Arch. Makariou III 155, 3026 Limassol, Cyprus. This policy explains what data Flashlight does (and doesn't) collect, the permissions it uses, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").
2. What Flashlight collects
Nothing. Flashlight does not collect or transmit any personal data, device identifiers, location, contacts, or usage telemetry off your device. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server we communicate with.
3. What we do not collect
- No name, email, phone number, or any account information.
- No location, contacts, microphone access, or device-wide advertising identifiers.
- No payment data — the app is free and contains no in-app purchases.
- No third-party advertising SDKs and no advertising profiling.
- No third-party analytics or crash-reporting services.
4. Permissions Flashlight asks for
The app requests only the minimum Android permissions required to operate the flashlight:
- Camera — required by Android to control the LED flash hardware. Flashlight does not capture, save, or transmit any images or video. The camera is opened only to toggle the flash and is released immediately when no longer needed.
- Foreground service — used to keep the shake-detection sensor running while the app is in the background. Required by Android for any background sensor work.
- Wake lock — used briefly while the shake-detection service is active so accelerometer events can be processed even when the screen is off.
- Vibrate — used for tactile feedback when you toggle modes inside the app.
You can revoke any permission at any time in Settings → Apps → Flashlight → Permissions on your device.
5. Magnifier feature
The magnifier opens the rear camera to display a live preview at higher zoom. Frames are rendered to the screen in real time and discarded; no image data is recorded, saved to your device storage, or transmitted anywhere.
6. Google Play distribution
Flashlight is distributed through Google Play. When you install or update the app, Google may collect data according to its own privacy policy as part of operating the Play Store. Codeensis does not receive any of this data. Aggregate install counts and crash totals are visible to us in Google Play Console only at a non-personal, summary level.
7. Children
Flashlight is suitable for all ages. Because the app does not collect any personal data, it complies with COPPA and GDPR-K requirements for child-directed services by design.
8. Legal basis (GDPR) and your rights
Because Flashlight does not process any personal data, the GDPR data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection) do not apply — there is nothing for us to access, rectify, erase, or port. 9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if Flashlight changes in a way that affects privacy. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Effective" date above. The current version of this policy always applies to the version of the app you are using.
