DIATAGO
Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
Diatago is a day counter for the Schengen 90/180 rule, tax residency and visa limits, published by CodeEnsis Ltd. ("we", "our", "us"). This policy explains what the Diatago mobile application collects, what it does with that data, and the rights you have.
2. What Diatago stores on your device
- Trips you add, import or that the app detects: country code, entry date, exit date, a note.
- Limits you watch (for example Schengen 90/180 or 183 days in a tax year) and their warning settings.
- Your passport country and tax home, used only to pick the rules that apply to you.
- For automatic detection: a short log of country checks (time, day and country code) kept for 31 days, then deleted.
This data is not transmitted to our servers. If you uninstall Diatago, it is removed with the app.
3. Location
Diatago asks only for approximate location (Android ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION). It never requests precise location.
- While you use the app: if you allow it, Diatago looks up which country you are in and offers to start a stay. Free.
- In the background (Premium, optional): if you turn on automatic detection and choose "Allow all the time", the system runs a short check a few times a day (about every two hours). Each check asks for one approximate position, converts it to a country code on the device using built-in offline border data, and records only the code and date. This is how Diatago notices that you crossed a border with the app closed.
Coordinates are discarded immediately after the lookup. No location data is sent to CodeEnsis or to any third party, and no map or geocoding service is called. You can turn automatic detection off in Settings, or revoke location access in your phone's settings, at any time.
4. What we do not collect
- No account or login.
- No advertising identifiers and no advertising SDKs.
- No precise location, no location history on our side, no contacts, photos or microphone.
5. Optional analytics
Diatago can send anonymous usage events to Google Firebase Analytics (for example "onboarding completed" or "report exported") to help us improve the app. This is off until you agree and can be changed any time in Settings. Events never contain your trips, countries, dates or location. Firebase is a service of Google LLC: policies.google.com/privacy.
6. Subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We do not see your payment details. Subscription status is verified through RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous user identifier and your purchase status, never your trips or location.
7. Permissions
- Approximate location and, optionally, background location: see section 3.
- Notifications: warnings before you reach a limit, a note when a new stay is detected, and a reminder one day before a free trial ends.
- Run at startup (Android): keeps the periodic country check scheduled after a restart.
8. Reports you share
PDF and CSV reports are created on your phone. They leave the device only when you share them yourself, to the app and recipient you choose.
9. Children
Diatago is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
10. Your rights
Because your data stays on your device, there is no CodeEnsis-side record to access or delete. You can delete any trip or limit in the app, export everything as CSV, or uninstall the app to remove all data. If you opted in to analytics and want associated Firebase records deleted, contact us and we will handle the request with Google.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as Diatago evolves. Material changes will appear here with a new effective date.
