Terms of Use.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Carpet Calculator mobile application ("Carpet Calculator", "the app"), provided by CodeEnsis Ltd. ("we", "our", "us"), Χριστόδουλου Σώζου 2, EIFFEL TOWER, Floor 3, Flat/Office 301, 1096 Λευκωσία, Κύπρος. By installing, accessing or using Carpet Calculator you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Licence to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Carpet Calculator on devices you own or control, for your own personal or internal business use, subject to these Terms and to the rules of the app store from which you obtained it. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by CodeEnsis Ltd.
3. Estimates, not professional advice
Carpet Calculator computes linear yardage, strip layout, seam count, seam tape, purchased area, waste and cost from the figures you enter and the roll width you select. Its outputs are informational planning tools, not a guarantee of material sufficiency and not contracting, surveying, structural or legal advice. Real requirements vary with the actual roll delivered, its usable width and trim, pile direction, pattern match, doorways, alcoves, transitions, stairs, out-of-square rooms and installer practice. You are solely responsible for how much carpet you order, the prices you quote, and the business decisions you make. Measure the site yourself and verify figures before relying on them.
4. Seams, T-seams and lay direction
The app draws a suggested strip layout and flags where a seam would fall, including a warning when a layout is likely to require a T-seam. These indications are heuristics based on geometry alone. The app does not know your carpet. Not all carpet can be T-seamed, and not every seam a diagram shows is acceptable in practice: pile direction must run consistently, patterned goods must match across the seam, and some constructions, backings and warranties restrict where seams may be placed or forbid certain seams outright.
Treat the layout as a starting point for a conversation with your supplier or manufacturer, never as an instruction. Confirm pile direction, pattern repeat, seam placement and any warranty conditions with the carpet's manufacturer or your supplier before cutting. We accept no liability for material cut, ordered or installed on the strength of the app's suggested layout.
5. Roll widths, products and prices you enter
Roll-width presets and any carpet products, pattern repeats and prices you save are convenience entries only and may not match any particular product or supplier's current stock. Carpet Calculator and CodeEnsis are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any carpet manufacturer, mill or retailer. Brand or product names you enter are your own records; where any trademark appears it belongs to its respective owner and is used only to identify a product. Always confirm the actual roll width, usable width, repeat and price with your supplier.
6. Quotes you produce
Quotes, PDFs and share images you export are generated on your device from your own figures and your own business details. They are your documents. You are responsible for their accuracy and for any commitment you make to a client on the strength of them. We are not a party to any agreement between you and your client.
7. Your data and backups
Your jobs, carpet products and settings are stored locally on your device (see our Privacy Policy). You are responsible for maintaining your own backups. We are not liable for data lost due to device failure, loss, deletion or app removal.
8. Carpet Calculator Pro - what you are buying
Estimating a room is free and always will be, with no paywall before you see a result. Pro removes the limit on saved jobs and unlocks multi-room jobs that combine into one roll order, the additional and custom roll widths, pattern-repeat alignment, and PDF and share-image client quotes. Pro is offered in three forms:
- Monthly - an auto-renewing subscription billed every month.
- Yearly - an auto-renewing subscription billed every twelve months.
- Lifetime - a single one-time purchase. It does not renew and is not a subscription.
The exact price, currency, billing period and any applicable taxes are shown on the purchase screen inside the app before you confirm, in your local currency as set by the app store. Purchases are processed by Apple's App Store or by Google Play; we never see or handle your payment details.
9. Renewal, cancellation and refunds
For the monthly and yearly subscriptions:
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel it.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price then shown for your plan.
- You may cancel at any time, but you must do so at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid being charged for the next one. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period already paid for; you keep Pro until then.
- Manage or cancel in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions on iOS, or in Google Play › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions on Android. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Any unused portion of a free trial, where one is offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
The lifetime purchase is charged once and never renews, so there is nothing to cancel. Restoring purchases on a new device is done with the "Restore purchases" button on the purchase screen, using the same Apple or Google account.
Refunds are handled by the store you bought through, under Apple's or Google's refund policies, not by us. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, your statutory withdrawal and refund rights are unaffected by these Terms.
10. Price changes
We may change the price of Pro. A change never affects a lifetime purchase you have already made. For subscriptions, a price increase applies only from a future renewal, and the app store will notify you and, where required, ask for your consent before it takes effect. If you do not accept, cancel before the renewal date.
11. Acceptable use
You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, resell or misuse the app, remove proprietary notices, or use Carpet Calculator in violation of applicable law.
12. Updates and availability
We may release updates, fixes and new features, and may discontinue features or the app itself at our discretion. Uptime, continued availability and backward compatibility of any specific feature are not guaranteed.
13. Intellectual property
Carpet Calculator, including its source code, design, name and logo, is the property of CodeEnsis Ltd. and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The app uses third-party open-source components subject to their respective licences.
14. No warranty
Carpet Calculator is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness or non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We make no warranty that calculated yardage, seam counts, seam placement, layouts, waste figures, costs or totals are correct, current or fit for any particular commercial purpose.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall CodeEnsis Ltd., its officers, employees or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, mis-ordered or wasted material, re-cuts, re-installation, or business decisions made in reliance on Carpet Calculator's output, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the app.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid CodeEnsis for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) ten euro (€10). Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under EU consumer protection law.
16. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless CodeEnsis Ltd. and its affiliates from any claim, loss, liability, damage or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of Carpet Calculator, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights or applicable law.
17. Privacy
Your use of Carpet Calculator is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Nicosia, Cyprus shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence grants you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
19. App store terms
If you obtained Carpet Calculator through the App Store or Google Play, you also agree to Apple's or Google's terms respectively. To the extent of any conflict between these Terms and platform terms, platform terms govern with respect to platform-specific obligations (for example, refunds and in-app purchases). Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms and have no responsibility for the app, but each may enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Carpet Calculator evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Effective" date above. Continuing to use Carpet Calculator after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
