STAGEMETER
Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
StageMeter is a mobile application published by CodeEnsis Ltd. ("we", "our", "us"), Χριστόδουλου Σώζου 2, EIFFEL TOWER, Floor 3, Flat/Office 301, 1096 Λευκωσία, Κύπρος. StageMeter is an offline GPS trip-timer for rally co-drivers: a trip meter, a time-control tracker, a special-stage stopwatch, and a TSD/regularity target-speed tool. This policy explains what data the app handles and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").
2. No account, ever
StageMeter does not ask you to sign in, does not collect your name or email address, and has no user account of any kind. On first launch the app generates a random identifier on your device (not derived from any personal information) so that analytics and your purchase entitlement can be recognized consistently across sessions. This identifier is not linked to your identity by us.
3. Data used on your device
While a session is active, StageMeter computes distance, speed, elapsed time, and (for Time Control / TSD modes) deviation from your target, from your phone's GPS. These figures are held in memory for the current session and are not written to a persistent trip history. Your unit choices (km/mi, km/h/mph, etc.), TSD/TC target values, and display theme (day/night) live only in the app's local settings. None of this is transmitted to us.
4. Location data
StageMeter uses your device's GPS location only to measure distance, speed, and timing during a session you start. On Android, an active session runs as a foreground service with a persistent, visible notification; on iOS, background location access is used only so tracking continues if the screen dims while a session is running. Location is not tracked when no session is active, is processed locally on your device, and is never sent to us or to any third party.
5. Diagnostic session logs
To help us investigate reported bugs from real drives, StageMeter can write a structured log of GPS samples and session events (start, pause, reset, mode changes) to a local, app-scoped folder on your device. These logs stay on the device — they are not uploaded automatically. If you contact support about a specific issue, we may ask you to retrieve and share one of these files yourself.
6. Analytics
StageMeter uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand feature usage (for example, which modes are used and how often) and stabilize the app, tied only to the random local identifier described in §2 — never your name, email, or precise location. This is standard usage analytics, not advertising tracking, and it does not carry your GPS coordinates, distance, or timing data. Firebase's practices are described at firebase.google.com/support/privacy and Google's at policies.google.com/privacy.
7. Purchases
StageMeter offers a single one-time purchase (no subscription) that unlocks Time Control, Special Stage, and TSD/Regularity. Your payment is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) — we never see or store your card details. Purchase entitlement is verified through RevenueCat, a third-party subscription-management service, which receives only the random local identifier described in §2 and your purchase/entitlement status. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
8. What we do not do
- No advertising, no ad SDKs, no advertising identifiers.
- No selling, renting, or sharing your data for advertising or any other purpose.
- No access to your contacts, microphone, camera, or photo library.
- No use of your data to train any AI model.
9. Permissions StageMeter asks for
- Location (precise, and background/"Always" on iOS) — to measure distance, speed, and timing during a session, including while the screen is off. See §4.
- Notifications — Android shows a persistent notification while a session's foreground service is running, as required by the platform.
You can review or revoke any permission at any time in your device's system settings; StageMeter will prompt you again if a feature that needs it is used without it.
10. Children
StageMeter is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Legal basis (GDPR) and your rights
Core timing/distance measurement and local storage rely on performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); analytics and app stability rely on our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)). Because your session data lives on your device, you control and can clear it directly by resetting a mode or closing the app. You may contact us to exercise rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or objection regarding the random identifier described above, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
12. International transfers
Firebase Analytics and RevenueCat may process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Google and RevenueCat provide contractual safeguards for such transfers as described in their respective privacy documentation.
13. Security
On-device data is protected by your phone's own security (lock screen, encryption). We recommend keeping your device secured and up to date.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as StageMeter evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Effective" date above.
