Common questions
My readings didn't appear in Apple Health / Health Connect
Sync is off until you turn it on, and reading and writing are two separate permissions - granting one does not grant the other.
- Open Settings → Health sync in Cardiomate and check that Write readings is on.
- iOS: Settings app → Health → Data Access & Devices → Cardiomate. Apple requires each data type to be allowed individually.
- Android: Health Connect must be installed. On Android 13 and earlier it is a separate app from the Play Store; on Android 14 and later it is built into system settings.
Writing applies to readings saved after sync is enabled. Turning it on does not retroactively push your older history.
Readings from my Bluetooth cuff aren't showing up
Cardiomate does not talk to cuffs directly. It reads what your cuff's own app writes into Apple Health or Health Connect - which is how Omron, Withings, A&D and most others work.
- Confirm the reading is visible in the Health app or Health Connect first. If it isn't there, the problem is between the cuff and its own app.
- Turn on Import readings in Settings → Health sync and run an import.
- Readings already in your Cardiomate history are skipped rather than duplicated, so importing twice is safe.
I paid for Pro but it's locked on my new phone
Cardiomate Pro is a one-time purchase tied to your App Store or Google Play account, not to a device. Open Settings → Restore purchase while signed in with the same store account you bought it with.
If it still doesn't unlock, send us the receipt email from Apple or Google and we'll sort it out. Note that a purchase made on iOS does not transfer to Android, or the other way round - the two stores are separate.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are issued by the store, not by us - we have no ability to reverse a charge. On iOS use reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android use Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & order history.
If something about Pro didn't work as described, tell us anyway - we'd rather fix it.
How do I give my doctor my history?
Settings → Data exports either a CSV file or a PDF report. The PDF is the one to bring to an appointment: it includes your averages and the period you select, laid out to be read on paper.
The file is generated on your phone and handed to your device's share sheet, so where it goes is entirely your choice. We never receive a copy.
My reminders don't fire
Reminders are scheduled locally by your device, so the operating system has the last word on whether they appear.
- Check that notifications are allowed for Cardiomate in your system settings.
- Android: exclude Cardiomate from battery optimisation, and allow alarms and reminders. Aggressive power management on some manufacturers' phones will silently defer scheduled notifications.
- iOS: check that Cardiomate isn't muted by a Focus mode, and that Low Power Mode isn't deferring background work.
Treat reminders as a nudge, not as a medical alerting system.
I uninstalled the app / reset my phone and lost my history
Your readings are stored only on your device - we never hold a copy, which is deliberate, but it also means we cannot restore anything for you.
Two ways to protect yourself going forward: enable Health sync, so readings also live in Apple Health or Health Connect and travel with your device backup, and export a CSV from Settings → Data now and then.
Is Cardiomate a medical device? Can it tell me if something's wrong?
No. Cardiomate records numbers you enter or import and shows them back to you. It does not diagnose anything, and category labels and averages are general information, not an assessment of you.
Talk to a qualified healthcare professional about your blood pressure, and never start, change, or stop medication because of something the app displays. If you feel unwell, contact emergency services rather than opening an app.
What data do you collect about me?
Your readings, notes and tags never leave your phone, and there are no ads and no advertising SDK in the app. We use Firebase Analytics for anonymous usage statistics - which screens get opened, which features get used - and RevenueCat to validate the Pro purchase. Neither ever receives your health data.
The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Can you add a feature?
Ask. Cardiomate is built by one person, and requests from people who actually log their pressure every day are the main thing that decides what gets built next. Write to [email protected] and describe what you're trying to do, not just the feature you have in mind - it usually leads to a better answer.
Still stuck?
Email [email protected] with your device model, OS version, and the app version from Settings → About. We aim to reply within two business days.
