CARDIOMATE
Terms of Use.
1. Who provides Cardiomate
Cardiomate is published by CodeEnsis Ltd. ("we", "our", "us"). These terms govern your use of the app. By installing or using Cardiomate you accept them; if you do not accept them, do not use the app. Questions: [email protected].
2. Use of the app
You may use Cardiomate for its intended personal purpose - logging your own blood pressure readings, reviewing your history and trends, and exporting a report to share with your doctor. You may not use it in a way that violates law, infringes a third-party right, attempts to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract source code beyond what local law expressly permits, or interferes with the app's normal operation. The app and its content remain the property of CodeEnsis Ltd.; these terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it, not ownership of it.
3. Not a medical device, and no medical advice
Cardiomate is a record-keeping tool. It is not a medical device, is not certified as one, and does not diagnose, treat, cure, monitor, or prevent any disease or condition.
- The app does not measure your blood pressure. It records numbers that you type in, or that another device or app wrote to your health store. It cannot verify that any of them are correct.
- Category labels, averages, mean arterial pressure, pulse pressure, and trend indicators are informational summaries of your own numbers, based on general published guidance. They are not a clinical assessment of you, and general guidance may not apply to your situation - during pregnancy, with certain conditions or medications, or at the extremes of age, among others.
- Never start, change, or stop medication, and never delay seeking care, because of anything Cardiomate displays. Consult a qualified healthcare professional about your blood pressure.
- If you have symptoms of a hypertensive emergency, or feel unwell, contact emergency services. Do not use this app instead.
4. Your data and your responsibility
Your readings live on your phone (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, for the technique behind each measurement, and for any file you export and share.
Because all data is local and there is no cloud backup, you are responsible for keeping your own copy. Exporting to CSV periodically, or enabling Apple Health / Health Connect sync, is the simplest way. We cannot recover data lost when the app is uninstalled, a device is reset, lost, or damaged, or a device backup fails to restore.
If you rely on reminders, keep your device and the app updated and check that notification permissions are granted. We cannot guarantee a reminder will fire if the operating system suppresses it - battery optimisation, focus modes, low-power mode, and similar features are outside our control. Reminders are a convenience, not a medical alerting system.
5. Health sync
Apple Health and Health Connect sync is optional and off until you enable it. When enabled, Cardiomate writes readings to, and reads blood pressure and heart rate records from, your device's health store. We do not control what other apps write there and cannot vouch for the accuracy or provenance of records imported from another source. You can revoke read and write access independently at any time in your system settings.
6. Price and purchases
Cardiomate is free to download and use for logging. Cardiomate Pro is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks the features listed on the purchase screen. There is no subscription and nothing recurring to cancel.
- Payment is taken by Apple or Google under their terms. Your purchase can be restored on your other devices using the same store account, via "Restore purchase" in the app.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not by us - we cannot issue, reverse, or expedite a store refund. Statutory withdrawal and consumer rights in your country are unaffected.
- Features already unlocked by a purchase you have made will not be taken away and re-sold to you. If the set of Pro features changes in a future version, that change will be disclosed before it applies.
7. Availability and changes
The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Features, content, and availability may change without prior notice, and support for older operating-system versions may end. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will CodeEnsis Ltd., its directors, employees, contractors, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, Cardiomate - including any loss of locally stored readings, any missed or delayed reminder, and any health decision made on the basis of information recorded or displayed in the app. Where this limitation cannot be applied under your local law, our aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for Cardiomate Pro or ten US dollars. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence remain unaffected.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Cardiomate evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Effective" date above, and the app will ask you to review and accept the new version on next launch. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you don't accept them, stop using the app and uninstall it.
