Terms of Service.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the BMI Calculator mobile application ("BMI Calculator", "the app"), provided by CodeEnsis Ltd. ("we", "our", "us"), Χριστόδουλου Σώζου 2, EIFFEL TOWER, Floor 3, Flat/Office 301, 1096 Λευκωσία, Κύπρος. By installing, accessing, or using BMI Calculator you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. License to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use BMI Calculator on devices you own or control, for your own personal use, subject to these Terms and to the rules of the app store from which you obtained it. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by CodeEnsis Ltd.
3. Not medical advice
BMI Calculator is an informational and educational tool. The body mass index, classification, ideal-weight range, and estimated body-fat figures it produces are general estimates only and are not medical advice, a diagnosis, treatment, or a substitute for professional healthcare. Body mass index is a simple screening figure: it does not distinguish muscle from fat and may be misleading for athletes, children, pregnant people, older adults, and others. Do not use the app to diagnose, treat, or make decisions about a health condition. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional about your weight, diet, and health, and seek immediate medical attention for any health concern. You rely on the app's output at your own risk.
4. Accuracy
Results depend entirely on the height, weight, age, and sex you enter and on the standard formulas the app applies. We do not guarantee that any figure is accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose. The body-fat figure in particular is an estimate derived from BMI and is inherently approximate.
5. Your data
The values you enter are stored locally on your device (see our Privacy Policy). You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter. We are not liable for data lost due to device failure, loss, deletion, or app removal.
6. Price and advertising
BMI Calculator is free to download and use and contains no purchases or subscriptions. The app is supported by advertising served through Google AdMob. In the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland you are shown a consent choice for ad personalization, and the app also reports crashes through Google Firebase, as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, resell, or misuse the app, remove proprietary notices, interfere with advertising, or use BMI Calculator in violation of applicable law.
8. Updates and availability
We may release updates, fixes, and new features, and may discontinue features or the app itself at our discretion. Uptime, continued availability, and backward compatibility of any specific feature are not guaranteed.
9. Intellectual property
BMI Calculator, including its source code, design, name, and logo, is the property of CodeEnsis Ltd. and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The app uses third-party software components subject to their respective licenses.
10. No warranty
BMI Calculator is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We make no warranty that any BMI, classification, ideal-weight, or body-fat figure is correct or fit for any particular purpose.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall CodeEnsis Ltd., its officers, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss, injury, or decision (including any health-related decision) made in reliance on BMI Calculator's output, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the app.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed ten euro (€10). Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under EU consumer protection law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CodeEnsis Ltd. and its affiliates from any claim, loss, liability, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of BMI Calculator, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights or applicable law.
13. Privacy
Your use of BMI Calculator is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Nicosia, Cyprus shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence grants you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
15. App store terms
If you obtained BMI Calculator through Google Play, you also agree to Google's terms. To the extent of any conflict between these Terms and platform terms, platform terms govern with respect to platform-specific obligations.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as BMI Calculator evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Effective" date above. Continuing to use BMI Calculator after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
