BMI CALCULATOR

Privacy Policy.

Effective: June 4, 2026

The short version. Your height, weight, age, and sex are stored only on your device and are never sent to us or anyone else. BMI Calculator has no account. The app is free and supported by a banner ad (Google AdMob), and reports crashes through Google Firebase. In the EEA/UK you are shown a consent choice for ad personalization.

1. Who we are

BMI Calculator is a mobile application published by CodeEnsis Ltd. ("we", "our", "us"), Χριστόδουλου Σώζου 2, EIFFEL TOWER, Floor 3, Flat/Office 301, 1096 Λευκωσία, Κύπρος. The app calculates body mass index and related estimates from values you enter. This policy explains what data the app handles and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").

2. Data stored on your device

Everything you enter - your height, weight, age, sex, and chosen units (metric or imperial) - is stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. Your computed results (BMI, classification, ideal-weight range, and estimated body fat) are derived from those values on the device. None of this is transmitted to us, and we have no ability to access it. We operate no backend server and no user accounts for BMI Calculator.

3. Data we collect about you

We do not collect, receive, or store the body measurements you enter. BMI Calculator does not require an account, an email address, or any sign-in, and we do not build a profile of you from your inputs. The only data that leaves your device is the advertising and crash-diagnostics data described in Sections 4 and 5, handled by Google - not by us.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

BMI Calculator is free and shows a banner advertisement, served by Google AdMob. To request an ad, AdMob and its ad partners may process:

AdMob does not receive the height, weight, age, or sex you enter, your BMI, or any other content from inside the app. Google's handling of this data is described in "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" and the Google Privacy Policy.

5. Consent for ad personalization (EEA / UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the app shows a consent message - powered by Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) - the first time you open it, asking whether ad partners may use your data for personalized advertising. Your choice is remembered on the device. If you decline, ads are still shown but are non-personalized. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the app's data or reinstalling, and you can opt out of personalized ads generally in your device's Google → Ads settings.

6. Crash reporting (Google Firebase / Crashlytics)

To find and fix bugs, the app integrates Google Firebase Crashlytics. If the app crashes, a diagnostic report is sent to Firebase containing technical context such as the type of crash, a stack trace, device model, operating-system version, app version, and a Crashlytics installation identifier. These reports do not include the height, weight, age, sex, or results you entered. We use them only to diagnose and fix crashes.

7. Third-party services

The app relies on the following Google services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

8. Permissions

BMI Calculator requests two permissions: INTERNET, used to load the banner ad and send crash reports; and the advertising-ID permission (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID), used by AdMob as described in Section 4. The app does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files, or location.

9. Children

BMI Calculator is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). BMI is not a meaningful measure for children and the app should not be used to assess them. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Data retention and deletion

Because the values you enter live on your device, you control them. Tapping Reset in the app clears your entry, and uninstalling the app removes all BMI Calculator data from the device. Advertising and crash data handled by Google are retained according to Google's own retention policies; you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device settings at any time.

11. International transfers

Advertising and crash-diagnostics data handled by Google may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Google provides safeguards for such transfers as described in its privacy documentation.

12. Legal basis (GDPR) and your rights

Providing the calculator and storing your entry on your device rely on performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); crash diagnostics that keep the app reliable rely on our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)); personalized advertising relies on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can give or withhold through the consent message and withdraw at any time. Because the data you enter is held on your device, you can view, edit, and delete it directly. You may also contact us to exercise rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or objection, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

13. Security

Your data is protected by your device's own security (lock screen, encryption). We recommend keeping your device secured and up to date.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as BMI Calculator evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Effective" date above.
