PulseTimer Tabata · HIIT · Boxing · Custom

Train by sound, not by staring.

An interval timer that calls every phase out loud, vibrates through a locked screen, and gets out of your way. Tabata, HIIT, boxing rounds, anything you build.

FEATURES

Built for the set in front of you.

Every feature exists for one reason: when the bell rings, you're already moving — eyes off the phone, hands on the bag.

Voice coach

"Work." "Rest." "Three. Two. One." A clear human voice calls every phase, every countdown — so you can keep your eyes on the bag, not the screen.

Reliable when locked

The timer keeps ticking when you turn the screen off. Lock-screen controls, audio focus that returns to your music, no surprise silence mid-round.

Silent haptics mode

Pure vibration patterns, no audio. Strong pulse on phase change, sharp triple-tap at the end — for crowded gyms, late nights, or when your headphones are charging.

Build any routine

Work, rest, rounds — three sliders, one tap. Save it, favorite it, tweak it next time. Tabata, HIIT, boxing 3-minute rounds, run-walk intervals. No templates lock you in.

History & streaks

Every session logged automatically — duration, rounds, routine. See the week at a glance. No goals, no shame: just an honest record of what you did.

Music friendly

Pick a sound mode that ducks your music for a beep, or steps aside completely so Spotify keeps playing. Cues stay on top of the playlist — they never fight it.

HOW IT WORKS

Pick. Press. Move.

Three taps from the home screen to the first round. After that, the phone goes face down on the bench.

1

Pick a routine

Tabata 20/10, boxing 3-minute rounds, HIIT 40/20 — or build your own. Your last routine is one tap away from Home.

2

Press start

Choose how it sounds — voice coach, boxing bell, music-friendly beep, silent haptics. Lock the screen if you want.

3

Move

Cues call every phase. The session logs itself. At the end you save, repeat, or share — no menus, no friction.

MADE FOR

Whatever your interval, this is the timer.

PulseTimer doesn't pick a sport. If your training has a clock, it works.

Tabata & HIIT 20/10 × 8, 40/20, EMOM. Eight presets ready, custom in seconds.
Boxing & MMA 3-minute rounds with a 60-second corner. Bell on the start, bell on the end.
Run-walk intervals 60s run / 90s walk for couch-to-5K, or 4x4 for VO₂ max. Voice cues through earbuds.
Strength circuits Set work / set rest / cycle rest. Helps you actually rest the prescribed 90 seconds.

A LOOK INSIDE

Big numbers. Calm colors. No clutter.

Designed to be glanceable from across the gym, and to disappear into haptics when the screen is off.

QUESTIONS

The short version.

Is PulseTimer free?

PulseTimer is on the App Store and Google Play. Pricing and any optional in-app purchases are handled by the platform — see the store listing for the current details.

Does it work when the screen is locked?

Yes — that's the whole point. Audio cues fire from the lock screen, haptics fire whether the phone is in your pocket or on the floor, and lock-screen controls let you pause or skip without unlocking.

Can I keep my music playing?

Yes. Pick "Music friendly" mode and PulseTimer ducks the music for a quick beep, then steps back. In silent-haptics mode, your music is never touched.

What's a Tabata?

20 seconds of all-out work, 10 seconds rest, 8 rounds — total 4 minutes. PulseTimer ships with the classic preset and a HIIT 40/20 variant; both are editable.

Will it drain my battery?

No. PulseTimer is a foreground timer with optional audio — there's no GPS, no network sync, no background scanning. A 30-minute workout costs about as much battery as a phone call.

What about my data?

Sessions and routines are stored on your device, full stop. Nothing leaves your phone. No account, no sync, no telemetry — just a local log of what you did.
