AMPERLY
Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
Amperly is a mobile application published by CodeEnsis Ltd. ("we", "our", "us"), Χριστόδουλου Σώζου 2, EIFFEL TOWER, Floor 3, Flat/Office 301, 1096 Λευκωσία, Κύπρος. The app sizes solar systems - balcony plants, home systems with storage and off-grid setups - and checks whether the chosen panels, batteries, charge controllers and inverters work together. This policy explains what data the app handles and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").
2. Data stored on your device
Everything you enter - your systems and their names, consumers and their power and hours, the panels, batteries and charge controllers in your library, prices, place names, monthly sun values, temperatures, tariffs and your preferences - is stored only on your device. It is not transmitted to us and we have no ability to access it. We operate no backend server and no user accounts for Amperly.
3. Data we do not collect
We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or postal address. Amperly does not read your device location: the place on the sun card is one you type or search for yourself (see section 7). The app contains no advertising SDK. We do not sell data - there is nothing to sell.
4. Anonymous statistics - off unless you switch them on
Amperly can send anonymous usage and crash statistics through Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. This is switched off by default. Nothing is sent until you turn on "Anonymous statistics" in Settings, and turning it off again stops collection at the source - the Firebase SDKs themselves are disabled, not just our own events.
- What is sent when it is on: anonymous event names and counters (for example "a calculation finished", "the mode was changed", "a compatibility error was shown or fixed", "the paywall was opened", "an export failed"), coarse settings such as the system mode, system voltage, battery chemistry, language, theme and currency, plus a randomly generated app-install identifier, device model, OS version and app version. Crash reports additionally include a stack trace.
- What is never sent: your consumers and their figures, your component data and prices, your place names and sun values, your saved systems and your PDF reports.
See the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation and the Google Privacy Policy.
5. Purchases
If you buy Amperly Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play and validated through RevenueCat, which we use to check and restore entitlements. A random, pseudonymous app-user identifier and your receipt data are processed for that purpose. We never receive your name, email or payment card details; payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy, the Apple Privacy Policy and the Google Privacy Policy.
6. PDF reports and sharing
Reports and shopping lists are generated as PDFs on your device. If you share or print one, your device's standard share sheet sends it to the app, contact or printer you select. We are not involved in that transfer and never receive a copy.
7. Sun data for your place
To fill in the monthly sun values for you, Amperly can look up a place you type. Nothing happens until you search and tap to load the data, and Amperly never uses your device's location (GPS) for it.
- Place search: the text you type is sent to your operating system's geocoding service (Apple on iOS, Google on Android) to turn it into coordinates.
- Sun and temperature data: the coordinates of the place you chose, rounded to about 1 km, together with the panel tilt and orientation, are sent to PVGIS, run by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre. The same rounded coordinates are sent to NASA POWER for the lowest and highest temperatures recorded there. No identifier, account or other data from the app is sent with these requests.
- The values returned are stored with your system on your device, so the app works offline afterwards. You can always enter or correct the values by hand instead.
See the European Commission privacy policy and the NASA privacy policy. Sun data: PVGIS © European Union, 2001-2026.
8. Links and network access
The app's fonts are bundled inside the app. Apart from the statistics in section 4 (only when switched on), the purchase checks in section 5 and the sun-data lookup in section 7, Amperly makes network requests only when you deliberately open a link: this policy and the Terms open inside the app; the "Open PVGIS" button opens the European Commission's PVGIS website in your browser, where the Commission's own privacy notice applies; and "Support" opens your email app. We receive nothing from these sites.
9. Permissions
Amperly requests no sensitive device permissions. It does not use the camera, microphone, contacts or location. Exporting, printing and sharing use your operating system's built-in dialogs, at your request.
10. In-app review
The app may occasionally ask, never before you have got value from it, whether you would like to leave a store review. The prompt and any review you write are handled by Apple or Google, not by us.
11. Data retention and deletion
Because your data lives on your device, you control it. Deleting a system or component removes it immediately; uninstalling the app removes all Amperly data from the device. Purchase records held by Apple, Google and RevenueCat are governed by their policies - to request deletion of purchase or statistics data, contact us and we will assist.
12. Children
Amperly is intended for adults planning electrical installations and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
13. Legal basis (GDPR) and your rights
We hold no personal data on any server, so most data-subject rights are satisfied directly on your device, where you can view, edit and delete everything. For purchase data processed via the app stores and RevenueCat, the legal basis is performance of a contract under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Anonymous statistics are sent only with your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you can withdraw at any time with the same switch in Settings. You may contact us to exercise rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability or objection, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
14. Security
Your data is protected by your device's own security (lock screen, encryption). We recommend keeping your device secured and backed up.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Amperly evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Effective" date above.
